"What greater thing is there for human souls than to feel that they are joined for life – to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories."

― George Eliot (Mary Ann Evans)

The intimate relationship we experience with another person can be one of the most rewarding and fulfilling connections we share, however it also can be one of the most challenging, painful, and scary relationships we experience. It is common that couples find themselves on a continuum of satisfaction and disappointment, fulfillment and longing within their intimate relationship. Finding ways to both increase connection within your relationship and foster the uniqueness of each partner is possible!

When working with couples I seek to provide a space where each partner is heard, understood, and their experience and emotions are honored. While couples often find themselves stuck in unhelpful and stressful patterns of miscommunication, disconnection, and hurt, I seek to help partners not only discover these patterns but develop healthier and more fulfilling ways of interacting. I help couples develop their connection to one another through increasing acceptance, emotional expression, and communication of needs, as well as through the fostering of vulnerability within the relationship. While relationships require consistent nurturing, through the development of honesty, acceptance, connection, and differentiation within the couple relationship, both partners can experience security to lean into their relationship in times of need while also finding the freedom and support to foster their unique self.

"I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship."

― Brené Brown
