What we Do

At NobleTree Therapy we support adult family systems to increase communication, a felt sense of safety, and connection with one another. The benefit of family therapy is that all voices within the family system can be heard and understood. Each member plays a vital role in that system. Each of your voices matters.

We work with family systems of all kinds. These can include adult adoptees and biological families, adult adoptees and adoptive families, parents and adult children, sibling sets, intergenerational relationships, roommates, friend systems, colleagues, etc.

Family therapy can help deepen emotional connection through processing past hurts and trauma.

Increasing emotional connection through processing the past and present can lead to greater clarity in our relationships. We utilize attachment, trauma-informed, experiential, narrative, as well as body and emotion-based therapy techniques to support healing in family systems. You’ll be supported in breaking out of narratives or roles that limit, hinder, or harm you, and find ways to create interactions that honor each member’s story and self.

Adoptive Families

We work with adult adoptees along with their adoptive and biological families. Adoption is multifaceted and complex. We support adoptees and their families who are searching for information related to their story, biological connections and are struggling to connect to their heritage and culture of origin.

Additionally, we offer support to adoptees and families in understanding the complexity of experiences each member has and holds. We seek to help families develop understanding, language, acceptance, and support for each person’s journey through family therapy.

We’re here to support each member of the adoption triad as you experience the benefits of family therapy.

Grief and Loss In Families

Grief and loss within families can occur around a variety of different experiences and transitions. Whether related to becoming empty nesters, moving across the country, or experiencing a traumatic death, grief and loss impacts families and their members significantly in different ways.

We help establish greater and more flexible communication and expectations that support the individuation, differentiation, and autonomy of each member of the family. Through creating a therapeutic space of acceptance, honor, and respect, families and their various members experience the benefit of family therapy by navigating the complexity and nuance of grief and loss.

Other Types of Family Systems

Family therapy isn’t just for adoptive and biological families. We work with friend groups, colleagues, and roommates as well, which are other types of ‘family’ systems. Sometimes friends need to establish better communication or roommates need to be able to set clear boundaries with one another.

We support various relationship systems in deepening their connection through needs negotiation, clear communication, and establishing respectful and safe interactions. Through supportive therapeutic spaces, our relationships can strengthen.
